Fair Play Gathering Held with Great Enthusiasm in Muğla (TUR)

Hosted by the Muğla Governorship, the event took place at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University’s
Hall B and brought together 400 participants from various sectors of sports. Among the
attendees were Muğla Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık, TMOK Fair Play Commission President
Haldun Domaç, Vice President Prof. Dr. Selçuk Bora Çavuşoğlu, Deputy Chair Necdet Ayaz,
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pero Duygu Dumangöz, journalists Deniz Satar, Mustafa Göksu, Mustafa
Karagöl, Hüseyin Özkök, as well as Başak Sönmez and Kaan Duygu.
The event, titled “Fair Play Gatherings – Muğla Governorship,” was organized to promote
the philosophy of Fair Play throughout Türkiye and embed it within all segments of society.
The panel featured presentations on the following topics: "What is Fair Play?", “Fair Play
from an Athlete’s Perspective,” "Fair Play and Personal Development," and "Atatürk and
Fair Play."
Speaking at the event, Muğla Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık emphasized that Fair Play is not
only about following the rules on the field but also about acting with respect, honesty,
fairness, and empathy in every aspect of life.
TMOK Fair Play Commission President Haldun Domaç stated that Fair Play is more than just
a sporting concept—it is a culture, a way of life, in short, life itself.
A special exhibition featuring cartoons and photographs depicting Fair Play was also
presented to the attendees. At the conclusion of the panel, Fair Play Commission President
Haldun Domaç presented a plaque to Muğla Governor Dr. İdris Akbıyık in appreciation of
hosting the event.
