“Fair Play Meetings” Attract Great Interest in Kırklareli (TUR)

The "Fair Play Meetings" event organized by the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK) Fair Play Commission was held in Kırklareli. Hosted by Kırklareli Governor Uğur Turan, the event took place at the Dr. M. Fuat Umay Conference Hall of the Kırklareli Health Campus.

Attendees included Governor Uğur Turan, TMOK Fair Play Commission President Haldun Domaç, Vice President Prof. Dr. Selçuk Bora Çavuşoğlu, commission members Prof. Dr. Kürşad Han Dönmez, Murat Faruk Özbay, Mustafa Göksu, Başak Sönmez, and support group member Kaan Duygu.

The 400-seat hall allocated for the panel was filled with public institution representatives, athletes, coaches, physical education teachers, and sports administrators from Kırklareli.

In his opening speech, Governor Uğur Turan emphasized that the spirit of fair play should be promoted not only on sports fields but in every area of life. TMOK Fair Play Commission President Haldun Domaç stated that the fair play philosophy involves sincerely competing with opponents under equal conditions.

During the panel, President Haldun Domaç gave a presentation titled “What is Fair Play?”, Prof. Dr. Selçuk Bora Çavuşoğlu spoke on “Fair Play and Personal Development”, Prof. Dr. Kürşad Han Dönmez discussed “Atatürk and Fair Play”, and Murat Faruk Özbay presented “The Journey of Fair Play from Past to Present”. Additionally, Başak Sönmez delivered a visual presentation on fair play. The panel lasted for one hour and fifteen minutes and was highly appreciated by the audience.

At the end of the panel, Fair Play Commission President Haldun Domaç presented a commemorative plaque from the TMOK Fair Play Commission to Kırklareli Governor Uğur Turan. Furthermore, Vice President Prof. Dr. Selçuk Bora Çavuşoğlu presented plaques to Kırklareli University Rector Prof. Dr. Rengin Ak, Commission Member Prof. Dr. Kürşad Han Dönmez, and Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Emrah Yüksel Babuşcu.
