On 17 April, in the city of Ma'a lot - Tarshiha a beautiful Multicultural Festival was held. This city is famous for having been established in 1963 through a municipal merger of the Arab town of Tarshiha and the Jewish town of Ma'alot. The unified town was renamed to reflect both origins. The event started with a catchball tournament on the soccer field and was followed by a very impressive ceremony and dance performances by Folklore dancing groups from the Friendship League.

The event was very important and symbolized the beginning of the connection between the Jewish community - Ma'alot - to the Arab community of Tarshiha, which have not been in neighborly relations for more than a decade.

This, the first joint event between the Jewish and Arab communities, symbolizes the beginning of an exciting cooperation.
