The Olympic Spirit Brings Together Olympic Athletes with Orphaned Children and Youth

The Olympic Committee of Israel (NOC), in collaboration with its Athletes Commission, initiated a sporting activity inspired by Olympic values for 160 orphaned children and teenagers.

The goal of the activity was to provide the orphans with inspiration and support, offering them an empowering and enjoyable experience alongside Olympic athletes, which would help them cope with their loss and the many challenges they face.

The NOC of Israel places great importance on promoting Olympic values, contributing to the community, and educating the community through sports. This initiative reflects the deep commitment of Olympic athletes to social action and supporting Israeli society, particularly children and teens whose ground has been so tragically shaken at such a young age.

Alongside the NOC PresidentYael Arad and CEO Gili Lustig, the participating athletes included Girmaw Amare, Maayan Davidovich, Yuval Freilich, Yam Wolczak, Nufar Edelman, Nina Amir, Gili Cohen, Shahar Kleiner, and Nitai Hasson.

Yarden Har Lev, Head of Education at the Olympic Committee of Israel, said: "The Olympic Committee of Israel advocates for social involvement as a significant part of its commitment to education, with Olympic athletes at its core. Over the past year, alongside preparations for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, members of the Olympic delegation have taken part in a wide range of activities, fulfilling their mission and responsibility to strengthen resilience and support the community. The natural bond formed between the youth and the athletes through sports best expresses the values of Olympism."
