Brin Vovk Petrovski (SLO) awarded with EFPM “Spirit of Fair Play” Award 2025

Brin Vovk Petrovski a member of the Slavinja Table Tennis Club and a Slovenian national player successful competed at the International WTT Youth Contender tournament in Lignano, Italy. Brin’s initial match was against Abdulahi Afolabi from Nigeria. The referees on the spot disqualified the Nigerian player due to unsuitable racket. Since the Nigerian did not have a spare racket, he could not play the match, consequently Brin would have won without a fight.  In an exceptionally sporting gesture Brin lent his spare racket to his opponent. Then, of course, he gave his best at the table and won the match. Brin Vovk was eliminated in the quarter-final, but more than the results, it is his personal achievement that remains, where he has demonstrated his excellence and respect for his opponent.

The award was presented on behalf of the EFPM by Robert Perc, Vice-President of the EFPM.
