Rosie Laquaye and Eric Bauwens awarded WITH EFPM “DIPLOMA OF RECOGNITION" 2025

Rosie Laquaye is a little girl like any other, (12 years old) except that she suffers from a motor

disability that forces her to use a wheelchair.

Last year, the year of the Paris Olympic Games, Rosie set herself a (new) challenge: carry the

Olympic flame and pass the relay... standing up! At her side was her coach and educator, Erik

Bauwens, a Special Olympics Belgium ambassador who also carried the flame at the London 2012 Olympic Games.

A challenge accomplished with success!

A great lesson for all, for even greater inclusion in sport.
