Tortosa (Catalonia, Spain) hosted the 40th Congress of the International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation

Nine months before the 6th CSIT World Sports Games (to be held July 2-7, 2019) the host city Tortosa (Catalonia, Spain) organized the International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation (CSIT) Congress. From October 22nd to 28th, Tortosa hosted the 40th Congress of the International Workers and Amateurs in Sports Confederation (CSIT).  The event, organized by CSIT member union UCEC (Unió de Consells Esportius de Catalunya), the city of Tortosa and the region Terres de l’Ebre was officially opened by CSIT president Mr. Bruno Molea.

EFPM was represented by its treasurer, Katarina Raczova, who addressed the delegates on behalf of the EFPM family. In her speech she highlighted the importance of the cooperation between CSIT and EFPM, an essential step in promoting the ethical values and principles of fair play in the world of sports. Both organizations have the same aims: to fill sports with positive meaning and provide a counterpart to all the negativity in today’s sport world and daily life. The EFPM is happy that the common success story – the Green Card initiative - will be actively used again during the 6th CSIT World Sports Games.  To further exploit the potential of this initiative, she suggested to also leverage the Green Card through social media. She suggested publishing recommendations to whom the Green Card should be awarded on Facebook and, additionally to the organizing committee’s judgement, let the public vote for the act worthy of a Green Card.

Finally she invited the CSIT delegates to the 24th EFP Congress and EFPM General Assembly 2018 taking place in Brussels in November 22-23. Its topic will be Sport, Spirit of Humanity.
