TMOK Fair Play Universities Caravan Meets Ankara University Students

As a proud member of the European Fair Play Movement, the Turkish National Olympic Committee (TMOK) continued its traditional Fair Play Universities Caravan with a visit to Ankara University on 20 November 2025. The event brought together students and distinguished speakers to promote the universal values of fair play.

The 2025 edition of the Fair Play Universities Caravan made its second stop at Ankara University, where students showed remarkable interest in the program. Held at the Sports Sciences Faculty’s Olympic Seminar Hall at the Gölbaşı 50th Year Campus, the panel gathered students under the inspiring motto “To Goodness, Truth, and Beauty.”

Before the panel, members of the TMOK Fair Play Commission paid a courtesy visit to Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin, expressing their gratitude for his contributions and continuous support. Commission President Haldun Domaç presented Governor Şahin with a plaque of appreciation.

The commission later visited Ankara University Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Ünüvar. Rector Ünüvar emphasized the profound importance of fair play both in sports and society, highlighting the need for collective commitment. President Haldun Domaç also thanked Prof. Dr. Ünüvar for his ongoing support.

Following the visits, students toured the Fair Play photography and cartoon exhibition displayed in the seminar hall. The panel, moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yalçın Uyar, featured a series of insightful presentations:

• Prof. Dr. Selçuk Bora Çavuşoğlu, Fair Play Vice President and European Fair Play Movement Board Member – “Fair Play and Personal Development”
• Necdet Ayaz, Vice President, champion, record-holding national athlete – “Fair Play from an Athlete’s Perspective”
• Emre Botan Kümet, Vice President – “Atatürk and Fair Play”
• Deniz Satar, Commission Member – “The Past and Present of Fair Play in Turkey and Worldwide”
• Dr. Başak Sönmez, Commission Member – “Fair Play Through Visuals”

With strong participation from Ankara University students, the panel concluded with an interactive Q&A session, during which commission members answered questions on fair play and its role in sports and daily life.
