World Fair Play celebration in San Marino

The event began with the playing of the anthems and institutional greetings from the CNSFP President Gian Battista Silvagni, the EFPM President Philippe Housiaux, the State Secretariat for Sport represented by Federico Valentini, the Captain of the Castle of Serravalle Roberto Ercolani, the CSPC Vice-President Riccardo Venturini, the Secretary of State for the Region Matteo Ciacci and the FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani. The speeches by Sergio Luconi and Luca Venturelli attracted the attention of the audience for the depth and sensitivity of the topics they presented, and then the presentation of two books by Gigliana Flore aka Gilly was appreciated with some interesting sleight-of-hand performances.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of the Fair Play Awards 2024 in the various categories to 28 sports and civil society personalities, together with the San Marino International Fair Play Passport, in the presence of Massimo Bonini, testimonial of the San Marino Passport.

Ronnie Jones entertained the audience with his pleasant music. The technical and video part of the event was masterfully directed by CNSFP Technical Director Diego Renzi. The presentation of the FP Day by Maria Rita Morganti and Sara Serafini was appreciated for its elegance and professionalism.

On the morning of Saturday 7th September, the Serravalle Castle Council, with the Captain of the Castle, Roberto Ercolani, and the Secretary of the Council, Eros Merlini, held an institutional meeting to receive the President of the European Fair Play Movement (EFPM), Philippe Housiaux, accompanied by the leaders of the Sammarinese National Fair Play Committee (CNSFP) and the Sammarinese Pierre de Coubertin Committee (CSPC). On this occasion, Ph. Housiaux presented a gift in recognition of the many years of work of the Fair Play Committee in San Marino.

A very special moment of the programme was the friendly match on Sunday 8 September at the "Ezio Conti" sports ground in Dogana between the youth teams of ASD Paperino San Giorgio (Prato) and SFA Serravalle Football Academy (Castello di Serravalle) "Fair Play takes the field" in the presence of parents, managers and the CNSFP.

The young footballers of the two teams from the Youth Football Schools played a pleasant group game in a spirit of friendship, beyond the sporting result, interpreting values such as fairness, respect for the rules, respect for others, solidarity, with the beauty of being together, in line with the healthy principles of Fair Play and the values of ethics.
