2016 EFP Plaque of Merit and Diploma

EFPM, represented by President Christian Hinterberger and EC Member Katarina Raczova, has been invited by the European Commission and the Slovak Olympic Committee to attend the Opening Ceremony of the European week of Sports 2016 in Kosice in order to award the International Kosice Peace Marathon, the oldest marathon in Europe, with the European Fair Play Plaque of Merit and Diploma 2016.
“The long tradition of 92 editions of this marathon is evidence of the unique spirit of sports to contribute to a more peaceful world”, EFPM President Hinterberger mentioned at the ceremony. The award was given to the organizers of the marathon, Stefan Dano, President of the Marathon Club Kosice, and Branislav Koniar, Managing Director of the International Kosice Peace Marathon.
