Actual information from EFPM

On 17 June 2021, the ENGSO family gathered online for the 29th General Assembly

The EFPM has been invited to attend the ENGSO General Assembly online on June 17th and EFPM President, Christian Hinterberger, took the opportunity to address the GA briefly.

Dear Mr. President,

Delegates, distinguished guests,

Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the EFPM many thanks for the opportunity to address you shortly.

The EFPM, founded 1994, actually counts 41 corporate members and 19 associated members, announces annual Fair Play Awards under the patronage of the EOC, annually organizes European Fair Play congresses and finally initiated the World Fair Play Day, which will take place on September 7th, 2021.

The whole world, the society and sport as well have been facing really challenging time, very much blocked by the coronavirus pandemic and it will for sure take some more months to achieve life as we are used to.

Nevertheless, this crisis on one hand shows a tendency to divide society, on the other hand makes undoubtedly clear the importance of sport activities for physical and mental health, it`s contribution to friendship and brotherhood, equality and solidarity, respect and integrity, to a harmonious life filled with fun and pleasure.

Nelson Mandela once mentioned,

“Sport has the power to change the world, inspires and unites people like nothing else.”

Let us together take care of sport, to keep it`s fascination and unifying spirit.

The key in that case, in my opinion, is cooperation and inclusion at all levels of sport. The ENGSO as organization is a relevant platform for cooperation and support of grassroots and voluntary based sport in Europe.

EFPM very much appreciates to be part of that important instrument of sport development.

On behalf of EFPM I wish you, Mr. President Bergh, and your Executive Committee colleague best success and good luck for the future.

Christian Hinterberger

EFPM President
