Sport is a Chance

On 15 December, 2023 the winners of the Sport is a Chance programme were announced in Slovak Olympic and Sports Museum

Every year, the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee (SOSV) Foundation in cooperation with the Fair Play Club of the SOSV announces the grant programme "Sport is a Chance" with the intention to support and help develop projects that highlight the social and educational function of sport. Within the framework of the programme, the SOSV Foundation reallocates a total amount of EUR 5,000 to support projects.

This year, 5 organisations were selected that help those in need through sport and movement or spread awareness and mutual solidarity through sport.

Symbolic grant cheques were handed over by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the SOSV Foundation, Dušan Guláš, and the President of the Fair Play Club of SOSV, Katarína Ráczová:

to the representatives of BOŽENA SLANČÍKOVA-TIMRAVA HIGH SCHOOL IN LUČENEC for the diversity project of the gymnasium sports grounds where they are trying to expand their multifunctionality;

to OSA – SPORTS ACADEMY - for a series of children's sports events in the Považia region;

to the civic association IBA SPOLU – ONLY TOGETHER -  that wants to support the sports activities of the center's clients with the received grant;

to the representatives of SPORTINSTITUTE organization for a day camp and sports summer for children from social home; and

to the representatives of the non-profit organization KORČULIARIK for the project “We perceive the world differently, but we have the same desire to win!”.
