Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs (FICTS) – headquartered in Milan (Italy), joined with 130 Member Countries, chaired by Prof. Franco Ascani Member of “IOC Commission for Culture and Olympic Heritage”, is the only Federation of the field recognized by the IOC for which it promotes the values of sport through the images.
The FICTS operates under the motto “Culture Through Sport” for the affirmation of the sports ideal and its moral and cultural values as an instrument of formation and elevation of the person and of solidarity. FICTS organizes the Sport Movies & TV - Milano International FICTS Fest.[3] It is the world's finals of the "World FICTS Challenge", the Worldwide Championship of Cinema, Television and Sport Culture.
The Opening Ceremony and Awards Ceremony of “SPORT MOVIES & tv 2024 – 42nd Milano International FICTS Fest” (5-9 November 2024) took place in Milan on Tuesday 5 November 2024 at the Testori Auditorium of Palazzo Regione Lombardia. It is the Final of 20 Festivals in the 5 Continents of the World FICTS Challenge of the World Championship of Television, Cinema, Culture and Sports Communication under the slogan “FICTS is Culture through sport Olympic Emotion,” with the presence of the President of the San Marino National Fair Play Committee (CNSFP) Gian Battista Silvagni and the President of the San Marino Pierre de Coubertin Committee (CSPC) Maria Rita Morganti at the personal invitation of Prof. Franco Ascani, President of the Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs (FICTS) which includes 130 countries including San Marino and Member of the IOC Culture and Olympic Heritage Commission; a five-day event of global importance to celebrate the passion for sport and cinema in collaboration with the Lombardy Region and the Milano Cortina 2026 Foundation.
For the occasion, the Presidents of the CNSFP and CSPC officially awarded the FICTS President Prof. Franco Ascani the “San Marino International Fair Play Passport” to seal the Friendship and collaboration with the FICTS.
At the Opening Ceremony, many personalities were present with the Minister for Sport Andrea Abodi, the President of the Lombardy Region Attilio Fontana, Paris medalists Alice Bellandi, Marta Maggetti, Giacomo Gentili, Andrea Panizza, Roberto Vecchioni and other illustrious figures from the world of sport, civil society, institutional authorities, military personnel and prestigious national and international guests.
