World Fair Play Photography contest announced by Turkey

It is our pleasure to inform you that the Turkish Olympic Committee (TOC) launches its “2nd International Fair Play Photo Contest” to promote Fair Play through photography.

The Contest, run by TOC’s Fair Play Commission, seeks to inspire the creation and dissemination of positive imagery on Fair Play to raise awareness about the concept. The Contest is open for entries until 10th of December 2023. The best photos will be awarded prize moneys. The Contest is open to all photographers and each contestant may submit up to three photographs that were shot after 1.1.2020.

TOC’s 2nd World Fair Play Photo Contest will be open for entries from the 1st of March to the 10th of December 2023. (Photos taken after January 1st, 2020 can participate in the competition)

CONTEST RULES

Participation in this contest is deemed as acceptance of these Contest Rules.

PURPOSE AND THE THEME OF THE CONTEST

Contest Theme: Fair – Play

TOC intends to inspire the creation and dissemination of positive imagery (photographs) on the concept of Fair Play to raise awareness nationally and internationally.

ELIGIBILITY

The contest is open to any photographer (amateur and professional).

The Selection Committee (Jury) members and their first-degree relatives are not

allowed to enter the Contest.

Previously exhibited/awarded photos cannot be submitted.

Each contestant may submit up to three (3) photographs for consideration.

The entries must be submitted through the e-mail address of the Contest

Secretariat (fairplay@olimpiyat.org.tr) by the competition guidelines and subject to the Contest Rules.

All photographs must be the own work of the participant. Responsibility for the legal cases for any sort of copyright violation using the whole or partial images from other sources will be upon the participant.

PHOTO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Entries may have been taken from any camera, film, or digital.

Entries (black&white or colour) must be saved in high-resolution JPEG format image at a resolution of 300dpi and 7:12 compression ratio. The shorter side of the photo must be at least 1920 pixels and the longer side at most 3200 pixels. Please limit your images to a maximum file size of 4 MB. Minimum

size for black&white images is 1MB (2MB for colour images). Photos should be sent without passé partout and margin. Details related to the participant’s identity such as name, signature, logo, date, etc. should not be presented on the photograph.

PRIZES

Prize Winners determined by the Selection Committee will receive Fair Play

Plaquette and Certificate of Participation and:

1st Prize : 2.000 USD

2nd Prize  : 750 USD

3rd Prize  : 500 USD

4th Prize  : 250 USD

5th Prize  : 250 USD

Alongside the first 5 place photos, a maximum of 50 photographs determined by the Selection Committee will be published at the TOC 2nd World Fair Play Photo Contest Album

PUBLICATION AND COPYRIGHT

By submitting any photograph to this contest, the entrant grants TOC a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to display, distribute, reproduce, and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or subsequently developed, TOC purpose, including, but not limited to advertising and promotional materials, its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including but not limited to TOC publications. The exhibited and awarded photos will be kept in the archives of the TOC. By specifying the name of the photographer these photos can be used in news, advertising, and social responsibility projects by the TOC, no extra royalty will be paid. The accepted photographs can be used for exhibitions, in publications or in printed documents (calendar, postcard, catalogue, web page, electronic communication or recording media, etc.) by the TOC and will be freely available on other platforms for (non-commercial) promotional purposes. For the photos that are used for this purpose the organizer does not need to get extra permission from the owner of the works; the participant cannot take the copyright back nor demand any additional royalty.
